What is Body Contouring/Body Sculpting?
Non-surgical cosmetic body contouring is a procedure that changes the shape of the human body without surgery. It includes several methods that reduce fat and tighten skin using low frequency ultrasound waves, laser lipo, radio frequency, vacuum therapy, and red light therapy just to name a few. Many of these body contouring procedures can cause redness or bruising in the treated areas, and you may feel a burning sensation while undergoing the procedure but don’t be alarmed. These issues don’t last more than a few hours, and the full effect of the treatment is usually visible within two months as your body slowly eliminates the waste and toxins.
What are the different types of Body Contouring?
Nonsurgical body contouring is called lipolysis. There are several lipolysis methods:
- Cryolipolysis uses very cold temperatures to destroy fat cells putting deoxycholic acid into the body to target fat cells.
- Laser lipolysis uses lasers to destroy fat cells
- Radiofrequency lipolysis uses ultrasound waves and heat to target fat cells
Sometimes, the results can vary.
What areas of the body you can target with Body Contouring?
- Arms.
- Back.
- Belly and flanks (love handles).
- Buttocks.
- Neck and chin.
- Thighs.
How do I keep excess fat off after a Body Contouring procedure?
- Drinking Lots of Water.– Our body requires water to stay hydrated and perform well. By drinking lots of water throughout the day, you will stay energized and have the energy to be physically active. Water also helps to keep you full and not overeat. Try to have a glass of cold water before every meal to fill up and control your portions.
- Staying Away From Bad Fats.– Believe it or not, there are “bad” fats and “good” fats. Good fats (monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats) give us energy and nutrition and are great in moderation. Examples of good fats include avocados, nuts, seeds, and fatty fish. On the other side of the coin, there are also bad fats—saturated and trans fats. These types of fats are known to be detrimental to your health, increasing your cholesterol level. Some examples of bad fats are butter, palm oil, and fatty cuts of red meat.
- Trying High-Intensity Interval Training Workouts.– Overall, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts achieve the same results as other forms of exercise in a shorter time frame. You get all the benefits of working out, but you don’t have to do it quite as long. Some of the benefits of HIIT workouts are:
- You burn a lot of calories.
- Your metabolic rate is higher for hours after exercise.
- You can lose fat and gain muscle.
- Trying Metabolism Boosters.– Certain foods and drinks have been scientifically proven to help boost your metabolism. While these foods won’t mean you lose twenty pounds overnight, it can be helpful to include them in your regular diet. Examples of metabolism-boosting foods include green tea, spicy foods (cayenne pepper), and high-protein foods (cottage cheese).
- Getting Enough Sleep.– Getting eight hours of restful sleep every night is directly tied to your weight control. When we’re overtired, we tend to indulge in unhealthy foods and skip workouts. Additionally, your body needs proper sleep to recover, stay energized, and maintain a healthy metabolism.
How many sessions of procedures do I need?
This depends on your goals which can be discussed during your consultation and/ or initial visit. And depending on the person we recommend about 4 sessions, 12 sessions for dramatic weight loss and 8 sessions to just tighten up and tone.
How soon will I see results?
Results will vary depending on how good your lymphatic system is functioning. How hydrated you are.
